United States: Russia entry requirements

U.S. citizens should start with a regular Russian visa source check. This country is not on the MFA unified e-visa list, and the MFA entry table lists visas for all passport types unless a narrow special exception applies.

RuID is not the primary check for this route. Do not apply visa-free RuID instructions to a regular visa, e-visa, residence, work, or study route unless an official source says it fits your case.

Assumptions

• You will enter Russia with a passport issued by United States.
• You are planning an ordinary short stay, not a diplomatic, crew, employment, residence, asylum, or special-permit route.
• You will recheck the MFA table, e-visa service, carrier, and consular route close to the travel date.
